Government has released a regulation on Tapera (Tabungan Perumahan Rakyat), subjecting a mandatory participation for everyone (public, private, self-employed) despite not all of these individuals could benefit from the programs (unlike BPJS).


Essentially, it is a socialist policy where middle-high income earners are not eligible for the programs but are paying for low-income households; hence, sharing the burden. The problem is that none of the burden is shared with the government.
