In the past century, the development of drugs such as penicillin, insulin, chemotherapy, HIV/AIDS drugs or morphine have improved human lives and the healthcare industry. Penicillin sparked the age of antibiotics and is responsible for saving millions of people while insulin have allowed individuals with diabetes to eat normally.


With that in mind, there is a new generation of anti-diabetes drug called Semaglutide from Novo Nordisk A/S (ticker NVO:NYSE) under the brands Ozempic/Wegovy or a similar drug called Tirzepatide from Eli Lilly (LLY:NYSE). However, these drugs are also promoted as medicines used for anti-obesity in the long-term weight-loss management.
