According to PLN, electricity tariffs in Indonesia are among the cheapest in Southeast Asia. In the third quarter (July–September) of 2024, the household electricity tariff in Indonesia was around IDR 1,527 per kWh, equivalent to 9.9 cents USD per kWh.


Comparison in ASEAN: In Thailand, the electricity tariff for the same category was around IDR 1,837 per kWh (equivalent to USD 10.5 per kWh). Malaysia had a lower electricity rate compared to Thailand and Indonesia, with household tariffs around IDR 1,442 per kWh (equivalent to USD9.2 per kWh).
