Key Summary:

  • Europe was found to discriminate against Indonesian CPO
  • Unfair trade policies continue to attack Indonesian industries
  • Indonesia is a net exporter to European Union (EU)

Indonesia recently won a major case at the WTO regarding unfair palm oil trade restrictions by EU. The ruling confirms that EU's biofuel policies discriminated against Indonesian (and Malaysian) palm oil exports.

While this is a significant victory, other Indonesian exports continue to face regulatory barriers from Europe, especially in nickel, stainless steel, and aquaculture industries.
